Opportunity is knocking.  District Governor Rick Rivkin and PDG Sarah Oliver invite you to become one of the most knowledgeable leaders in your club and our district and thus to increase the effectiveness of your Rotary service by taking advantage of District 6440 Leadership Academy 2016-2017.

DLA 2016-2017 is a fully online program, with all research and assignment submissions being done electronically.  It is comprised of six courses, each about a month in duration, covering the topics of Communications, Membership, Public Image, Youth Service, Rotary Organization and The Rotary Foundation.  Each course typically involves reviewing specific resources, joining in online discussions, completing written assignments, and taking a final exam, all within the allotted time frame for the specific course.
The courses become available one at a time in order, and completion is expected during the month that the particular course is active.  As a registrant you will receive access in August to a short Pre-course to familiarize yourself, prior to your beginning the first core course on September 1, with the Canvas learning management system that is used for all courses.  You should plan on spending an average of three to five hours per week through each course and to keep up with course assignments.

The “all electronic” District Leadership Academy program has been training Rotarians since 1998 to be the best-prepared club and district leaders possible.  In total almost a thousand club members in the United States, Canada and Russia have graduated from the program in their respective districts.

Register today and become part of building the future of your club and District 6440.  Space is DLA 2016-2017 is limited, and the deadline for submission of application materials is August 15, 2016.  If you have questions after reading all of the three required application documents, please contact PDG Sarah Oliver at gov.sarah@rotary6440.org.  We are delighted to welcome any committed current or future club or district leader to District 6440 Leadership Academy.
