Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills Service Project in Cusco Peru

On October 16, 2014, 9 representatives of the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills departed for a service project in Cusco Peru. The project, in partnership with the Rotary Club Julio J. Delgado of Cusco, consisted of several projects at the Huillicipata School located in a small Andean village outside of Cusco and the Chicuchas Wasi Alternative School for Girls located in Cusco, Peru. The projects involved building a greenhouse, rebuilding worm compost concrete sections, assisting in painting murals on walls, repairing class furniture, repairing a carport awning and tilling and planting a field for vegetables. The project received a district grant to help offset costs of materials. The labor was completed by the 9 representatives of the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills along with members of the Rotary Club Julio J. Delgado of Cusco along with members of their Rotaract Club.
