Health and economics. Two of life's biggest stressors. Many of us, our family and friends are fearful and experiencing heightened anxiety. Fortunately, there are practical steps you can take and readily available resources to help during this trying time. Please share these with your fellow Rotarians, family and friends.

National Association on Mental Illness-NAMI: is the nations largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. You can find your local NAMI chapter here, and learn about the reources they offer.

The Des Moines NAMI chapter is offering a FREE series of weekly inspirational speakers every Wednesday through May 27. Learn more and register here.

Many clubs are booking mental health experts to their virtual club meetings to discuss practical steps that one can take to relieve fear and anxiety and lead a more fulfilling life. Clinical psychologist and Past District Governor Mary Berge of District 7330 in Pennsylvania joined the Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield last week and discussed practical steps everyone can take to improve your mental health. You can see her presentation here, and read her post on Rotary Voices "The happier we are, the better we serve."

Consider inviting a mental health professional to make a presentation at one of your upcoming meetings, and pass along other resources that you find helpful.

Finally, if you might benefit from professional help, you can search for nearby therapists on Psychology Today's directory. Almost all insurance policies are now covering teletherapy.
